COVID-19 Guidance for 2023
Based on questions from members, SAANYS contacted both NYSED and NYSDOH regarding guidance to school districts on COVID-19 for the 2023-24 school year. Members asked what guidance they should follow as the most current guidance on the NYSDOH website pertained to the 2022-23 school year.
On August 17, NYSED posted the following information:
– SED recommends that schools review current CDC school guidance for COVID-19 prevention and work with their local health department to implement effective and feasible public health measures.
– SED currently has no plans to issue additional specific school COVID-19 guidance.
