Enhancing Your Special Education Knowledge and Skills: A Series for Building Leaders

FREE FOR SAANYS MEMBERS & NON-MEMBERS

As a building leader, you have many responsibilities with regard to special education, but may feel unprepared for them if you have a general education background. This dynamic three-part series is based upon the book, The Principal’s Special Education Calendar, which is a practical guide that explains a leader’s special education responsibilities over the course of a school year. With over 40 years’ experience as a principal and director of special education, Dr. Joanne Lane will combine practical strategies with the critical knowledge you need to begin the next school year feeling more confident, informed and empowered with regard to special education issues.

Session Highlights:

  • Gain essential insights into the legal aspects of special education.
  • Equip yourself with the skills and strategies to ensure compliance and accountability.
  • Learn how to develop a robust support system that you can depend upon when addressing the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Understand how to leverage data to drive decision making and foster continuous improvement.

The book, The Principal’s Special Education Calendar by Joanne W. Lane, will be sent after the event to those who registered and attended.

All sessions are online from 10:00am – 11:30am. Recordings of sessions are sent to registrants who cannot attend. CTLE credit provided. School teams, including counselors and other staff, are encouraged to attend.
