Board of Regents and State Ed Department to Hold Reopening Schools Regional Task Force Meetings
The Board of Regents and the State Education Department will host four virtual Regional Task Force meetings. Each meeting will include experts and stakeholders from the fields of health and education who will provide their expertise, answer questions, and give feedback to the Board of Regents and the Education Department to help guide schools and school districts in the safe reopening of their schools.
Each Regional Task Force meeting will include a presentation regarding health and safety from infectious disease expert Dr. Jack DeHovitz, MD, MPH, FACP and a presentation on Social Emotional Learning from Natalie Walrond, Director, Center to Improve Social and Emotional Learning and School Safety.
The first meeting will be held on Monday, June 15 and will be hosted by Chancellor Rosa, Vice Chancellor Brown, Regent Collins, Mittler and Norwood, and Interim Commissioner Shannon Tahoe.
Both the opening session and the closing report out session will be live streamed. Recordings of the individual break out sessions will be available on NYSED’s website approximately two to three business day after the meeting.
