Local Flexibility Funding

Funding for a demonstration program was posted on February, 22, 2018 by the United States Department of Education. This funding may be of interest to some districts seeking the use of blended funding, however there are areas for which further clarification is needed (such as the portability of funding).

For a local education agency (LEA) requesting to implement this flexibility beginning in the 2018-2019 school year, this application is due to the U.S. Department of Education by March 12, 2018. For an LEA requesting to implement this flexibility beginning in the 2019-2020 school year, this application is due by July 15, 2018. The Department may accept additional applications for this flexibility in the future on dates to be announced.
