The Ed Week Research Center surveyed 630 teachers across the country regarding their main stressors. Of the respondents, 68 percent cited low student engagement as their biggest challenge. Join your colleagues on the road to captivate the hearts and minds of students.
This practical and engaging series will focus on your role as an instructional leader to provide your teachers with both motivation and tools through a series of change exercises to break through the cognitive entrenchment of familiar and failing strategies and systems.
Marc Isseks, PhD, is a SAANYS member, author, and practicing administrator with 30 years experience as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, and school leader in Brooklyn and Long Island. His first book, Forward Fast: Making Sense of Education in an Era of Rapid Change, was published in 2019. Marc co-hosts the State of Ed podcast and is a frequent presenter on the topics of positive change and student environment. A self-proclaimed educational ‘pyromaniac’, Marc is dedicated to lighting fires under people who work and setting fire to systemic conventions that do not.
