One Voice, One Vision: United Leadership for Safer Schools and Communities
Registration is now open for the “One Voice, One Vision: United Leadership for Safer Schools and Communities” program. This conference for New York State educators and law enforcement will be held in Niagara Falls, NY, from August 19-21, 2024.
The State of New York Police Juvenile Officers Association (SNYPJOA) is proud to present a new program for school administrators and other key personnel where they will learn, side by side, with School and Community Resource Officers in a unique training course. As part of their annual state-wide conference in Niagara Falls, the SNYPJOA “One Voice, One Vision” program offers a three-day comprehensive approach to the prevention phase of emergency management. The sessions will address the root causes that can lead to violence and will equip educators and their policing colleagues with the skills to effectively navigate potential challenges and create safer, more resilient school communities.
During the conference, school personnel will join forces with nearly 300 School and Community Resource Officers from across New York State. Sessions will include key strategies on threat assessment, de-escalation, understanding the adolescent brain, and trauma-informed interventions. Participants will also explore their purpose, establish goals, celebrate successes, and learn self-advocacy for their important work. Through collaboration, empathy, and proactive leadership, participants can change the narrative and ensure the well-being of all members of our educational environments. Together we will make a difference.
