Dr. Joe Sanfelippo
Dr. Joe Sanfelippo recently retired after spending the last 26 years in the building and the final 12 as the superintendent in Fall Creek, WI. The Fall Creek School District was named an Innovative District by the International Center for Leadership in Education twice during that time.
He was selected as 1 of 117 Future Ready Superintendents and 1 of 50 Superintendents as a Personalized Learning Leader by the US Department of Education. Education Dive named Joe their National Superintendent of the Year in 2019. Learn more about Joe.

Call for Annual Conference Tabletop Presenters

Submission Deadline: May 9, 2025
We invite you to submit a proposal for a Tabletop presentation that relates to one of the strands of this year’s theme. These are just some ideas – please feel free to submit on relevant topics not listed here.
- LEADING: Challenges of leading in a time of turbulence, examples of initiatives you have led or supported in your school or district to improve student outcomes, address teacher burnout, build culture and community, rethink outmoded strategies and systems for meaningful change, improve attendance and academic outcomes, develop relationships with staff, students and families, provide meaningful professional learning for teachers and staff, lead and manage special education programs, increase student engagement…
- LEARNING: Share what you and your school communities have learned about generative AI, neurodivergence, cell phone policies, attendance issues, staffing, scheduling, branding and effective communication to families, student discipline and alternatives to suspension, revamping reading instruction, cyber issues and student safety, strategies to ensure that all students feel welcomed and supported, improving disciplinary approaches, referral systems and reporting, processes and procedures…
- LIVING: Strategies for work/life balance, setting boundaries on your time, making time for healthy habits, managing stress, career decisions and pathways, planning for your future, self-care practices, your own physical and mental well-being, avoiding burnout, connecting with colleagues, amazing travel experiences, advice you would share with a newer school leader…
We are looking for proposals from school leaders in all roles at every stage of their professional journey, with the emphasis on a ‘how to’ that participants can learn and take away. As always, please be creative and think out of the box! All topics, from the most concrete to the most reflective or inspirational, will be considered!
