180 Days of Required Attendance

In April of 2017, SED sent out a memo  clarifying requirements for the 180 required days of attendance and the use of half days. The clarifying memo was in response to audits of school calendars indicating that some districts were not in compliance with the requirements. The memo resulted in many questions on this issue and soon after SED indicated that it would convene an advisory committee and seek input from the field. SAANYS was asked to participate on the advisory committee and SED is holding a round of statewide meetings on this topic. SAANYS has arranged for several of our members to attend these meetings.
