SAANYS Presents Testimony at SED Summit

At the April 13 and 14 meeting of the Board of Regents we were gratified to hear you and your fellow board members repeatedly express the need and interest to engage educational associations, psychometricians and other experts regarding the regulatory provisions that are necessary to implement the new annual professional performance review (APPR) system, pursuant to §3012-d. Even more so, we are appreciative of the opportunity afforded to SAANYS to present information and recommendations at the May 7 Learning Summit on Teacher and Principal Evaluation. We are writing today, on behalf of more than 7,000 school administrators across the state, to reiterate important points presented at the summit; and to facilitate and promote a complete and true understanding of our recommendations in connection with principals’ APPRs. Continue reading here …
