Retiree Chair Honored As Equality Advocate

The Human Rights Campaign Western & Central New York honored Dr. Bruce Gorman with their Equality Advocate Award. Gorman, the chairperson of the SAANYS Retiree Advisory Board, was celebrated during the organization’s dinner on May 18.

The Equality Advocate Award is given to an individual in Western/Central New York whose voice, visibility, passion, and dedication help to advance LGBTQIA+ equality in the region. Awardees are noted for having a track record of rising in the face of adversity and using their time, talents, and influence to move equity forward, especially for marginalized members of the community.
