Restorative Practices to Address Student Behavior

JUL

12

In a recent statewide survey of SAANYS school leaders, an alarming 86 percent of respondents reported an increase in student behavioral issues this year. There is a widespread sense that the old system of traditional rewards and consequences doesn’t work anymore, but the need to build understanding and our own capacity around new approaches has not kept pace with increased concerns. This interactive workshop will focus on learning more about restorative practices in ways that can be shared and implemented over the next year in school communities.

Register now to learn more about:

• Developing a nonconfrontational rapport with even the most challenging students.

• Implementing conflict resolution strategies that prioritize relationship building and lead to more long-lasting results.

Here’s what people had to say about Dominique Smith after last year’s annual conference keynote:

“Dynamic and real … Everything he said was thoughtful and thought-provoking. I loved that he is in our shoes and doing the same work we are doing.”

“Inspiring, poignant, and motivational!”

“BRING HIM BACK!”
