JANUARY 13 | FEBRUARY 10 | MARCH 10 | APRIL 14 | MAY 12 | JUNE 9, 2022
A VIRTUAL SERIES
Each session runs from 4:00 pm – 5:15 pm
We all know by now that the work that needs to be happening in our schools around diversity, equity, and inclusion is both urgent and complex. Instead of another one-shot workshop, or hiring another consultant, build your own capacity in a way that is meaningful and sustainable. We are inviting all educators to become part of a cohort of colleagues who will explore and learn together over nine months during the next school year. The cohort will be led by Dr. Luvelle Brown of Ithaca, who, in addition to his leadership of DEI work in NYS, has been leading similar cohorts around the country.
District teams are encouraged to register 3 or more members for a special team discount. Teachers, support staff, parent leaders, essential service leaders (facility, transportation, health, and others) are encouraged to join along with school leaders.
Structured monthly equity conversations will include:
• cultivating a culture of equity
• evaluating your system with an equity lens and making equity a part of everyday practice
• the questions and issues you bring
Case studies, other leading experts and resources will be included in the development workshops.
TEAMS AND INDIVIDUALS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND!
$900. – SAANYS MEMBERS | $1,000. – non-members
$800 per individual – district teams of 3 or more
(Additional in-district coaching available.)
How will this help my team?
The cohort experience provides a unique opportunity for school district leaders to have candid conversations with a nationally recognized expert in equity and cultural responsiveness, while engaging in practical professional development based on proven practice and research-based methodology. The cohort provides a clear opportunity for sustained development as well as the golden opportunity to learn and share with colleagues who are facing the same challenges and hoping to build their skills.
